About the School & Position
Grounded in the time-proven Montessori philosophy, The Montessori School of Raleigh has been developing agile thinkers, poised communicators, and gracious collaborators for 44 years. The school seeks a Head of School for the 2020 school year.
Situated on two attractive, purpose-built campuses within the highly desirable Research Triangle of Raleigh, great attention has been given to creating learning environments to compliment the developmental stages of children and young adults. The Lead Mine Campus, situated on 10 acres in North Raleigh, provides a village-like setting for younger learners. The Briar Creek Campus on 40 acres in Durham is intentionally designed to encourage the independence that is a critical part of adolescent growth. The recent completion of a new 9-12 Upper School, combined with the authorization and implementation of the IB Diploma Program in grades 11 and 12, provide an ideal continuum to create a strong college-preparatory program that fosters independent thinking, active engagement in the learning process, and the competence and confidence to manage not only college work but also life.
