About the School
Founded in 1938, Miami Country Day School was a residential boarding school for boys Kindergarten through eighth grade. Country Day has evolved remarkably over the past 80 years, pioneering the education of the whole child. The school is now a coeducational, nonprofit, interdenominational learning community with approximately 1350 students in Pre-Kindergarten 3 through Grade 12 representing over 40 countries. MCDS is one of the most international day schools in the country.
Upper School students are challenged in a strong college-preparatory program that encourages independent thinking, active engagement in the learning process, and the formation of strong bonds between teachers and students. Students are exposed to culture and expression through the arts, leadership and teamwork through athletics, compassion and humility through service, and intellectual thought and curiosity through an outcomes based and student-centered curriculum. At Miami Country Day School students are prepared for college and for life by embracing four core values: honor, respect, wisdom and compassion.
