Charles Wright Academy is one of the premier schools in the Pacific Northwest. CWA opened its doors to 40 boys and a faculty of five in September 1957 and in 1970 became a co-ed school. Today CWA boasts 657 students (app. 50% male/female) with 199 students in lower school, 176 in middle school and 282 in the high school and a faculty of 88 talented, dedicated teachers. 40% of the students are students of color. You can kayak or walk the beaches of Puget Sound or hike Mt Rainier which is just 60 miles away. Another beautiful fact, housing costs in Tacoma are 61% less than in Seattle.
