Deirdre A. Ling

After twenty-five years in higher education as Dean of Admissions, Assistant Chancellor, and Vice Chancellor for University Relations and Development at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Deirdre Ling transitioned into independent secondary education as the Head of Middlesex School in Concord, MA, a position she held for thirteen years. Deirdre taught English and Women’s Studies throughout her career in higher education and independent education.

 

Deirdre holds a B.A. cum laude in Philosophy from the University of Rochester, an M.A. from the University of Rhode Island, and a Ph.D. from Tufts University, both in English. She was a Klingenstein Visiting Fellow and a Christian A. Johnson Fellow. She has served on the boards of hospitals, museums not-for-profits, and independent schools, including Falmouth Academy and Fay School, both in Massachusetts.

 

Deirdre joined EC in 2003. In addition to head searches, Deirdre has assisted schools with senior administrative searches, strategic planning, governance and Admissions and Development audits.
