Educators Collaborative LLC, a leading strategy and search firm supporting independent schools, will welcome Percy L. Abram, Ph.D. as the newest member of the company’s impressive roster of partners in summer 2025.

Percy is finishing his eleventh year as Head of School at The Bush School in Seattle where, under his leadership, the school experienced unprecedented enrollment growth, increased philanthropic giving for operational and capital projects, expanded and improved facilities, and a significant increase in BIPOC student enrollment. Prior to his time at Bush, Percy served as Head of School at Gateway School in Santa Cruz, California. Previously, Percy worked as Upper School Director at Brentwood School (Los Angeles) and Dean of Multicultural Programs at Menlo School (Atherton, CA).

Percy is deeply committed to the issues of social justice, equity, and inclusion in schools and co-founded the Northwest Association of Independent Schools (NWAIS) Leaders of Color program for aspiring leaders of color to explore their leadership visions, opportunities, and aspirations within and beyond independent schools.

“Percy brings a wealth of experience–both as a longstanding head and as a trustee and presenter at some of the independent school world’s most important organizations–to EC,” says managing partner Nat Conard. “I speak for all of the partners when I say we are thrilled to welcome Percy to our team; I look forward to learning from and collaborating with him to position schools for success through effective leadership.”

Percy is a sought after board member and currently serves as a Trustee for The Heads Network. Additionally, among many other appointments, he is a former trustee and past president of INDEX, the Independent School Data Exchange Group. A prolific presenter, Percy has presented at both the NAIS National Conference and the PoCC as well as the California Association of Independent Schools.

“I am very excited about this next chapter of my career in education and look forward to the opportunity to learn and grow alongside an esteemed group of educational leaders at EC,” says Percy. “I was attracted to EC because of the diversity and depth of experience among the partners, the humanistic approach to search, and their commitment to helping schools and school leaders thrive.”

Percy holds a Ph.D. and M.A. from Stanford and an M.A. and B.A. from University of California, Los Angeles. Percy will attend PoCC in Denver December 4-7 and looks forward to connecting with old and new colleagues there as well as on LinkedIn.
