About Ned

Ned Becker enjoyed a four-decade career in independent schools as a teacher, administrator, and head of school. He launched his career as an English and science teacher and coach at Jacksonville Episcopal High School, FL. Subsequently, he became Dean of Students, Director of Admissions, Director of Development, and Assistant Headmaster before assuming the Head of School position in the late 1970s. Ned continued his headships at Metairie Park Country Day School in New Orleans and at Episcopal High School in Houston, TX before joining EC.

Ned holds a B.S. in Biology and English from Hampden Sydney College and a master’s degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from the University of Florida. He has served on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Independent Schools Association of the Southwest and on the boards of independent schools and businesses. Currently, he is a Life Trustee of Episcopal High School and a trustee of the KIPP Charter Schools.

Ned joined EC in 2007. He has conducted executive searches for independent and charter schools, and has assisted schools and businesses with strategic planning, governance work, financial planning and executive coaching.
