About the School
Summit Charter School, located in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina, is an outstanding example of a successful charter school. Since its inception twenty years ago, the school has grown enrollment, developed a beautiful new campus, and has begun to add a high school division. Construction of a gym and new classrooms will be completed this year and reflects successful fund raising and support from the entire Cashiers community.
Talented educators and engaged parents partner together to create an exceptional educational environment in which the Kindergarten through Grade Nine students are able to develop a level of confidence that invokes success, self-worth, and the opportunity to thrive in all endeavors. A unique place-based curriculum allows students to apply classroom lessons to meaningful hands-on learning experiences in the outdoors. This, coupled with STEAM-focused programs, foreign language, and a wide-variety of extra-curricular activities, enables Summit to graduate students who are academically prepared, engaged in the community, and strong in character.
