About the School

Located in scenic central Pennsylvania just minutes away from Penn State University, State College Friends School offers a vigorous academic education guided by the Quaker principles of simplicity, peace, integrity, community, equality, and stewardship.

For more than 35 years, teachers and staff have cultivated a love of learning as students explore social, political and environmental issues faced globally. The SCFS community is comprised of approximately 100 students in seven multi-grade classrooms led by seven lead teachers, several assistant teachers, three administrative staff and two part-time staff.

About the Position

The next leader of Friends School will have teaching experience and a deep understanding of child development. She will be a multi-tasker who enjoys being involved in all aspects of school life. In a collaborative fashion, he will develop a vision for enhancing the Friends School program and image.

While it is not required that the head be a Quaker, it is imperative that she embrace the Quaker principles and model them in the community.
