About the School
For more than four decades, Eagle Hill has had an incredible record of helping children with language-based learning differences become successful learners. It is a child-centered school that addresses each child’s specific educational needs by developing an individualized academic program, delivered by a staff of highly trained, dedicated, and experienced special educators and literacy specialists. At Eagle Hill, the children, faculty, and parents form a strong partnership in and out of the classroom.
There is a true atmosphere of collegiality within the Eagle Hill community. Together, the Eagle Hill School Board of Trustees, Administration, Faculty and Staff work tirelessly to support the needs of its 255 students, ranging in age from 5 to 15. Their work is focused on fulfilling its commitment to all students consistent with its Mission and Philosophy. Day to day, an integrated team ensures that each child receives a targeted and comprehensive education within an environment that encourages growth, respect, and self-advocacy. Looking ahead, the Eagle Hill community has successfully developed a new three-year Strategic Plan to strengthen its leadership position in the realm of special education.
Situated on the former estate of Marjorie Merriweather Post, the recently renovated Eagle Hill School campus is located in the beautiful residential town of Greenwich, CT. Eagle Hill services children from Fairfield and Westchester counties as well as the greater New York City area in its day program, and children from the tri-state areas of Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey in its five-day boarding program. The school also welcomes students from all over the world.
The school is approved as a special education facility by the Connecticut Department of Education, and is accredited through the Connecticut Association of Independent Schools. In 2017, Eagle Hill was cited for the sixth year in a row as a “School of Excellence” by the National Association of Special Education Teachers.
