Throughout a career in independent education, Doug Jennings has worked at both day and boarding schools in the mid-west, southern and mid-Atlantic regions. His headships include fifteen years as the Director of Indian Springs School (AL) and nine years as the Head of Park Tudor School (IN). Prior to that, Doug was Upper School Director at Forsyth Country Day School (NC) and Middle School Director for Montclair Kimberley Academy (NJ).
Doug holds a B.A. in English from Lafayette College, a Master’s in counseling from Montclair State College and a Master’s in educational administration from Columbia University. He was a Klingenstein Visiting Fellow and a Christian A. Johnson Fellow.
Before serving on the NAIS board, he was a faculty director for the New Heads Workshop for four summers and President of the Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS) board as well as President of the Indiana Association of Independent Schools. He has been a trustee of the Birmingham Museum of Art, Tindley Charter School and North Carolina Outward Bound.
Doug joined Educators’ Collaborative in 2011 and re-located to Wilmington, NC, where he serves as a mentor in the UNCW Cameron School of Business and as a board member for Friends School of Wilmington. He assists schools around the country with head and administrative searches, strategic planning and leadership team development.
