The Village School, an independent, faith-based school with 522 children enrolled in Pre-K through Grade 9, added its first Upper School grade (9) this academic year. The Village School of Naples, FLThe School will add Grade 10 in the upcoming academic year, with plans to add Grades 11 and 12 in 2018-19 and 2019-20, respectively.

Founded by the North Naples United Methodist Church, The Village School shares a campus with the Church and endorses the Church’s commitment to providing a loving environment where children can grow and learn by discovering the world from a strong Christian perspective. The School provides a safe sanctuary for learning where children are challenged to achieve their full potential; its inspirational environment empowers students to think for themselves and create solutions to the challenges of an ever-changing world.

The School’s comprehensive program is based on the development of each child’s emotional, spiritual, social, and intellectual growth through exposure to a wide variety of experiences and activities. The School uses project-based learning in a rigorous academic environment to enable students to work collaboratively, think critically, and engage in purposeful problem-solving activities while instilling Christian values in their lives.

The Village School emphasizes the STEAM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) throughout the curriculum, providing students with comprehensive concepts that relate to the core disciplines. The teachers have been trained in the STEAM methodology of cross-curricular planning, and this training is reflected throughout the practices seen in all classrooms. While the School’s program recognizes students’ varying learning styles, the School has adopted specific benchmarks for excellence to ensure students’ readiness for the next level of their education.

To enhance the learning environment, The Village School uses technology throughout the curriculum. In addition, the School offers numbers activities in the arts, emphasizing the performing arts in both its curriculum and its extracurricular activities. Athletics is also an important part of the students’ educational experience; 30 teams are currently fielded across 20 individual sports.
