It borders three ecosystems: a salt marsh, Audubon woodland, Green Farms Academy, CTand the Long Island Sound. Committed to its core values–passion, integrity, empathy, curiosity and excellence–GFA engages students as partners in an innovative, inclusive, and globally minded community to prepare them for a life of purpose. Through innovative teaching and a rigorous curriculum, GFA students gain a strong foundation that emphasizes critical thinking and problem solving. Students are equipped with 21st century skills that will serve them well in college and beyond. GFA looks to encourage leadership, creativity, ethical decision-making, and a lifelong love of learning.

GFA students collaborate with teachers to develop their voices to effect change, to become lifelong learners who take ownership of their educations, and to have an instinct for self-reflection that builds character and drives improvement. Building on a demanding curriculum, the faculty of 113 full-time teachers seeks innovative and effective methods to help students cultivate the skills and habits of mind necessary to excel. With students and faculty of color representing 18.2% of the student body and 17% of the faculty, GFA strives to create a diverse community that values the identities, perspectives, and experiences of all its members.
